As a certified coach with a background as a former practicing lawyer and law firm talent management professional, Marketta specializes in working with legal employers to deliver progressive talent policies and programs, and coaching lawyers and law students to develop the insight and confidence they need to realize their professional and personal aspirations.

Marketta studied law at the University of Toronto, summered and articled in Toronto, practiced law in a large regional firm in Vancouver, and worked in-house for a provincial administrative tribunal. Before founding Current Talent, she was the Director of Professional Recruitment and Head of Professional Resources at a large national law firm for more than 15 years.

Marketta’s best days are when she shares her knowledge and expertise to inspire and support law firm managers and lawyers to see what’s possible, and to achieve and surpass their goals. Marketta’s style is direct, honest, creative, solution-focused, with an unwavering positive attitude. Her approach is to tailor her services to meet each client’s individual needs.

When not working in her office in Vancouver, you might find Marketta in Toronto (her unofficial second home) or in her happy place at the lake in Northern Ontario planning a meal for family and friends, immersed in her next home improvement project, or curled up with the novel she’s trying to finish in time for her next book (wine) club.
